Meet Rah

RAE-VEN 'RAH' PARSONS

Twenty-eight years old, Rah has been a full-time mother of three beautiful souls, a student, an employee, and an entrepreneur. Due to personal traumas faced within Rah’s livelihood, she has grown committed to healing and providing a better quality of life for herself, her children, and her loved ones. She has always had an innate passion for health and wellness. At 16 years of age, Rah began practicing and advocating yoga and mindful movement within her local Toronto communities. Shortly after giving birth to her first child at twenty years old, she was introduced to the importance of plant-based nutrition. Rah chooses to recognize the abundance of natural resources available to her in times where traditional health care may not be easily accessible. Most importantly, she pays homage and holds space for her ancestors before her who prevailed in care through beautiful acts of resistance, and now guide her in her healing.

At one point in her life, Rah found herself overwhelmed by everyday tasks and multiple health diagnoses. A new birth of her daughter, breastfeeding and homeschool demands, financial insecurities, full-time employment, the global pandemic, and little-to-no support played a factor in the trigger of stress and health issues she was diagnosed with. After experiencing a breakdown Rah wasn’t shocked to learn that the only option given to her was prescribed medication and inconsistent phone calls from a therapist.

“After I finished serving everyone and everything around me, I found that there were few-to-no supports or opportunities left. It was only until I decided to stop reaching out for help and begin reaching within myself to heal that I found my divine feminine energy and self-healing abilities.”

At twenty-seven years old Rah began to teach herself about cyclical living, which takes into account the phases of our menstrual cycles and how to adapt our life to them to harness optimal energy and wellness. This helped Rah identify and explore her own complications, and understand how everyday actions & stresses could play a factor in the disturbance, disease, and/or damage to the female organ. Our uterus “is a dynamic female reproductive organ that is responsible for several reproductive functions, including menses, implantation, gestations, labor, and delivery.” Optimistic to adopt the sacred practice of yoni steaming in her monthly routine. She ordered a steam box and some feminine hygiene products online via the US. However, after being immensely overcharged due to exchange rates, shipping & other fees, Rah wished that there was an affordable and local alternative here in Canada. This led to the birth of Rah Essence INC! A brand that celebrates health and healing through affordable & accessible holistic health products, because loving oneself should never have to be a compromise!

Rah is also currently studying herbal alchemy by Imani, and is working towards completing her certification at the Peristeam Hydrotherapist Institue offered by SteamyChick. She is immensely grateful for both her teachers Imani and Keri, and gives special thanks to her loved ones and community for their patience, encouragement, and love!
